Community Health Grant Guidelines

The NC Medical Society Alliance offers two annual grant cycles. Application submissions will be reviewed and due diligence conducted by the Alliance’s Board of Directors according to the following schedule (schedule appears at the bottom of the page on mobile):​

Guidelines – Request for Funds
-
NC Medical Society Alliance will consider only proposals to organizations improving the health and quality of life for the people in North Carolina. This includes, but is not limited to, initiatives and groups supporting health care providers and their families or promoting health education.

The application is open only to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Only applications that directly benefit residents of North Carolina will be considered.​​

Grants are not to be used for any of the following purposes:

Political campaigns or lobbying efforts

Businesses established for personal gain or profit
-
To support organizations in their annual fund drives, fundraisers or capital campaigns

To give scholarships or sponsorships
-
To fund an agency’s deficit or endowment
-
For direct support of religious activities. (Secular activities provided by religious organizations may be eligible)

Food, paper products, or other items that can easily be donated by community partners.

Request Rules

Organizations who receive a grant may not reapply the next year.

Grant applications should include a quantitative way to measure the success of the grant’s impact in the community.

Grant awards will be unrestricted funds and may be used to meet the nonprofit’s operational or program needs.

The applicant agrees to submit its annual report with an accounting of outcomes achieved as a result of this grant within 15 months after receipt of funds. Contact us if you need an extension.

The NC Medical Society Alliance must be recognized in appropriate publications where other donors or sponsors are recognized. Every attempt should be made to include NC Medical Society Alliance in social media outreach, promotional activities and marketing materials.
