2008 House of Delegates Approves “Friends and Family of the Alliance” Amendment
A proposed amendment to the NCMS Alliance Bylaws including a provision for a new state membership category was passed by the House of Delegates on April 18 during the 2008 Annual Meeting. The “Friends and Family of the Alliance” category provides an option for county Alliances and the NCMS Alliance Board of Directors to nominate individuals that do not qualify as regular member for recognition as Alliance supporters. The full text of the proposed amendment is included below.

The amendment stipulates that individuals accepted as “Friends and Family of the Alliance” members are not eligible to vote, may not represent a county Alliance in the state House of Delegates, and may not serve as an Alliance officer. As proposed, “Friends and Family of the Alliance” must pay dues and are eligible to serve on state committees.
