The Mecklenburg Medical Alliance and Endowment (MMAE) and MEDIC (the EMS agency for Mecklenburg County) have developed  an exciting local program  to significantly increase the public’s ability to provide life saving intervention in the event of a cardiac arrest episode.  The Lucky Hearts Campaign is aimed at training at least 1,000 area residents in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in addition to donating and installing automated external defibrillators (AED’s) in high population density areas throughout Mecklenburg County.

The partnership was forged after MMAE and MEDIC recognized that the organizations shared a very similar goal: to provide the people of Mecklenburg County with the tools necessary to increase the likelihood of positive outcomes when faced with an incident of cardiac arrest.

For county Alliances interested in launching The Lucky Hearts Campaign in their local area, the MMAE has kindly put together samples of their materials and documents developed to support the program in Mecklenburg County.
Thank you to the MMAE for generously sharing their wonderful project and the materials that they have developed in support of the program.  If your county Alliance is interested in bringing The Lucky Hearts Campaign to your community, please contact the NCMS Alliance office.
